The Sukuma are Tanzania’s largest ethnic group, residing in the North-western part of the country around Lake Victoria and Lake Rukwa. They are primarily agriculturalists and cattle herders, known for growing crops like sorghum, maize, millet, and cassava, as well as cash crops like cotton and tobacco.
